A Tribute to the American Coal Miner Concert

(in conjunction with the 2010 SME/PCMIA Annual Joint Meeting)

On Friday evening, October 29, 2010, SME/PCMIA will be hosting a musical tribute to the American Coal Miner at the IceoPlex at Southpointe, Canonsburg, PA.  International Award-Winning, Grammy Nominated Recording Artist Stella Parton and her band “Underground” will perform a selection of heart-warming and passionate coal mining songs that trace the history of coal and its importance to the nation.  The primary sponsor for this coal mining outreach event is Alpha Natural Resources.  Other sponsors include the Pittsburgh Section-SME, PCMIA, Coal News, and Blue Mountain Equipment.

This unique concert has been designed to promote our precious coal industry and show appreciation to our local coal miners and mining industry personnel.  Stella Parton will take the stage at 7:30 pm.  There will be a cash bar and doors open at 6:15 pm.  Tickets are only $12.00 each.   A concert flyer can be downloaded for distribution and posting so please spread the word!
